Treasuring Time

Treasuring the time we spend with music is something that is completely removed from today current society. MP3's are used and abused on MP3 players everyday while standing on a bus, studying and doing chores. this is the devaluation of music as we know it and the product above is designed specifically for the MP3 generation to show their favourite albums wall mounted to remind them to listen to music purely for the music and not as a background noise to our daily lives.....

I think this is a very interesting and new way of looking at music.....i believe sight and sound are two major sensory components of time. Sounds can trigger memories but your right....we do listen and consume so much music and sounds these days its hard to separate one from the other. I think by visualising the sound or piece of music it acts as a great trigger of time....it can be more specific and there fore more special. well done :)

Great idea! MP3 players took the place of CD players, not much people buying CD but i think CD is the great part of music, the original is the best. Your project made this happen, remind me of the time i spend with music, and seeing my favourite albums on the well is just so wonderful.

one improvment may be about the shape of the holder, could be more interesting, and maybe can have a cover to protect ur favourite album.

AS many people don't bother with their old albums any more, this would be a good way to display the cds that they have that they may not use as much and remind them to listen to them. I didn't see your product on presentation day but maybe an improvement could be something that makes it not fall out when placed in the product, but it may already be secure enough.

I think its a great idea, not only do people not buy as many cds but the ones they have are obsolete once the songs are on theyre mp3 player. Displaying them on a wall in a sleek display is a much more dynamic way of showing off ones cds rather than the thin spines of a cd case. And the Stainless steel finish makes it all that bit more classic. Good design!

i totally agree with you on the devaluing of music in todays society. i saw your presentation and think it is a great response to the brief. i love the look of the holders, but you have to be careful not to let that detract from the cd's themselves as they are the important objects in your design. i would definately purchase these holders well done.
