Video Reflection: David Kelley Human Centred Design

David Kelley's expose of the current and future motif of design being human centered is an intriguing one. The idea of design for a personality or behavior means that designs can be justified by more than numerical demographics. In Kelley's words "it makes it more enjoyable". His thought on creating a user interface of a machine not only suitable for its purpose but user friendly highlights the importance of behavioral design. This can be seen in the various short concept films that Kelley showed such as the custom technological fit out of the Prada store New York or even the installation at the London Science museum that completely integrates the thoughts of all museum goers into an installation for all to see. In my opinion the humanization of the Gilbert's cubicle was the epitome of designing for personalties and behaviors as the cubicle is coldest of working environments in terms of individuality and personality.
